Rotterdam, March 15, 2024 – South Holland celebrates a milestone for the circular construction economy. Innovative leaders from the province gathered at NICE Developers in Rotterdam to sign the New Normal manifesto.
‘Accelerating the circular construction economy together’
The New Normal, which was previously launched nationally on December 7, 2023, provides a clear language with achievable and ambitious circular performance targets for the construction sector. The New Normal was initiated in response to a request from six major clients and six major contractors to create a single language for circular construction. It was drawn up in collaboration with Cirkelstad, Alba Concepts, Copper8, Metabolic, Witteveen+Bos, and Delft University of Technology. More than 100 clients and contractors from the construction sector across the country have already rallied behind this initiative and signed the manifesto. Today was the moment for organizations in South Holland to sign the manifesto.
Why a new normal?
In order to balance the construction challenge and the climate issue, we will have to build and renovate differently. The New Normal offers tools to do this.
As an organization, QbiQ wants to accelerate the transition to a circular future! By signing the manifesto for The New Normal, we endorse the desire for a clear language on circular construction. In this way, we can make The New Normal truly the new normal.
